Session Types

Family

Family sessions are always different (because every family is different!) and they're always a blast. Seriously, even when no one is feeling the vibe and everyone is nervous when we begin, by the end we're planning the next family runway sesh together and often you're the ones giving pose ideas. Families can consist of couples, can include kiddos or other family members, and YES! fur babies count.

I'm well-versed in photographing littles who can't (and shouldn't have to!) stay still for long. I also treasure the ability to be a fly on the wall and capture real-life, lovey moments that would otherwise go unnoticed. For this and many other reasons my family sessions tend to have a documentary-style/candid feel. Having said this, my posing game is on point, so for those families who want more direction, I'm here for you.

These sessions start at $400 and go up depending on location/room switches, clothing changes, time, etc.

We'll go to your location(s) of choice and basically hangout while I am photographing. It'll be very natural and very fun.

Portraits

Whether these are your senior portraits, a new set of headshots, a gift to yourself or anything else, I have your back.

What makes portraiture different from a family session or just your typical headshots?

Portraits have to go deeper; they have to tell more of the story about you as an individual. In other words, they have to represent - both artistically and emotionally - your unique personality and life's journey. That's a big deal and it's very different from corporate headshots.

Even if you're simply (but importantly!) updating your headshot game, let a future boss see the real you rather than an über-posed version of yourself. If you're a senior and about to start your own life, let's get you photos as fine art, ones that are totally unique rather than a run-of-the-mill vibe. If you want to mark a special shift or moment in your life, let's dig into the real emotions behind this time rather than pulling from an over-used pile of poses. You see what I mean... it's so much deeper than just taking some pics. It's intention-setting in front of the camera, and using art to showcase your unique story.

I'll bring all the rad posing and modeling skills, obviously, but ultimately, these sessions are collaborative. We will get to know each other a bit beforehand and discuss aesthetic and feel that you desire in the final gallery.

Boudoir

Boudoir is special and one of my favorite sessions to book. I have a passion for making people feel beautiful, handsome, seen, and just overall bad-ass. We are ALL lovely in our own ways, and a boudoir photo session will make you a believer in yourself. Whether you want to gift your lover with a sexy gallery or you want to feel good about yourself, these sessions are confidence-boosting, safe, and also super fun. All body types deserve to be seen and celebrated!

We will photograph in your bedroom or any other room in your space. We can shoot outside if you wish, if it's private enough. I will set up the lighting that I need while we talk about moods, moments, stories and poses. I'll coach you through body posture tips and guide you at the beginning, and then I let you take the wheel. It can feel awkward at first, but you'll get into it. We go back and forth, creating body art together. You can get as nude as you're comfy with. I take your safety and comfort levels extremely seriously, so it's worth noting here that I never show boudoir galleries to anyone without the written consent of clients, I have a nudity clause in my contract that protects us both, and while it will be fun it will feel very professional. We will also talk beforehand about how you are feeling and what you want out of the session. We'll create a safe space to make art of your amazing body!

Boudoir is a more specialized type of photography and there is a bit more to it than my other portrait sessions.

Newborn

My newborn sessions are fully documentary-style. In other words, I don't do any posing during these sessions. There are a few reasons for this:

1. You just had a baby! All you need to do right now is rest, heal and enjoy the new little being you just brought earth-side.
2. The realities of having a new baby often include having a messy home, settling into a new relationship and new flows, and fatigue.
3. I believe in the beauty and importance of capturing genuine moments, and I can think of few things in life that are more raw and heartfelt than being with your new baby in their first hours, days or weeks of life.
4. I feel strongly that these sessions stay fully documentary-style for artistic reasons as well. For my own art to be as authentic and honest as I can make it, I can't think of another way that I'd want to document a new baby coming into your life!

These sessions start at $350 and go up depending on how long I stay and if you also booked your maternity session with me.

I usually say let's book within the baby's first 3 months, but it's your choice. I come with as little gear as I can for these shoots, I don't use big lights and rarely, if ever, a flash. You don't need to clean up or get dressed up or change anything about your current situation. I will basically be a fly on the wall; you and your family can just hangout as you normally do and I'll be there making photos. These sessions are really special and are meant to memorialize one of the sweetest (and, let's face it, most tiring) times of your life, as it is, in it's most honest state. This is real life, baby. And there's nothing more real than having a BABY!

Maternity

CONGRATULATIONS! You're having a baby! This is one of the most profound experiences that a woman can have. Maternity used to be all I did - that's how much I love it. I missed the other sessions, so I switched back to being a Jill-of-all-trades, but maternity is my "bread & butter," so to speak. I love photographing a mother-to-be as she grows new life insider her body. The curves! I just think pregnant bodies are the loveliest and I'm downright obsessed.

I have a few different maternity session options:

1. Adventure Mama: we go adventure in nature and let the magic happen.

2. Belly Boudoir: That's right, you guess it! It's a sexy, lovely boudoir where your baby bump is front-and-center. Honestly, I never felt sexier than when I was in my second trimester. These shoots are so.much.fun. (And honestly, they're nice memories to peruse once you get to the end of your third trimester and you just want to meet that baby!) We shoot at your house/bedroom, I bring lavender EOs, tea, and lots of magick.

3. Milk Bath is a fun add-on we can do and it adds such an incredible touch to your final memory gallery!

These sessions start at $495 and go up depending on how many locations we visit, clothing changes, shoot time, etc. Also, make sure to ask me about a bundle option with a documentary-style newborn session!

Honestly, maternity is where I really get down on making photo-art. It's just such a unique moment in time and in your life. The entire thing - the body, the baby, the vibes - I get chills every time. It's the perfect time to make amazing photo-art!

Relationship

These sessions are such a blast! Celebrating love or commitment in any form is always an honor. It's not just couples - throuples, committed quads, life partners and any other kind of polyamorous relationship is something to be celebrated. (This includes engagement sessions). I love getting to know each person in the relationship and bring out their unique personalities in the photos. We will chat before the session so I can learn your story and what's important to you to have in these pics. Every relationship group (like every person) is different! You will have a unique set of dynamics and desires with your partner or partners and those matter for the photos. You want your final gallery to really showcase the essence of your relationship(s).

These sessions start at $400 and go up depending on how many locations we visit, clothing changes, time, etc.

These are a lot like family sessions in that we will hang out at your location(s) of choice and I'll be taking mostly candid photos as we all hang out. I will make suggestions as we go and can do posing where we need or want to, but as with all of my photographing I will be focused on the overall feel and aesthetic of each shot. I may suggest a spot at the location because of lighting or colors... things like that... but I want these to feel as natural as we can make them feel!

Wedding

You did it! You've found the person (or people) that you want to spend forever with, You've decided to have a ceremony and party to celebrate your love, and you want to document the day. YAY! That's where I come in.

Weddings are different from other sessions for some obvious reasons. I have a few wedding packages that I will walk you through when we talk, but the gist is that you can have me there for as little as two hours and up to the entire day, always with a second photographer.

I've been photographing weddings for a long time and I've learned how I do it best. I have done the über posed mantle-framer weddings and I have done weddings where no one wants to pose at all. I think there is a happy medium for wedding days, although I always try to veer toward candid, documentary feel. Sometimes you have to setup the candid moments, which seems counterintuitive at first, but in the end it still makes the final gallery feel real and extremely romantic.

Wedding galleries are... robust. In other words, I deliver a TON of photos and they're all edited beautifully. You will always have the option to buy extra photos if you'd like, photo books, prints (framed or not) and other items from my store. But the session includes a good amount of photographs that capture your day.

My packages start at $3300 and go up depending on how long you'd like me to stay, if you'd like a second photog, etc.

Bonus tip: My husband is a wedding DJ, so there's another connection for you! But this also means that I intimately know the wedding scene from many perspectives. I used to help him DJ and I've worked with wedding photogs from that side of the veil, so to speak. I have also catered weddings.
